Cooking with a lightbulb

When the Farmer was a boy, he asked Santa for an Easy Bake Oven for 4 or 5 years in a row.  Santa never came through.  

Target had East Bake Ovens on sale on Black Friday.  That night after work, after most of the madness subsided I went and bought it. I'm honestly not sure if it was a present for kiddo or him.

Do you know that the light bulb is not included?  Seriously?

You do know that I am a cheapskate and and darn proud of it.  No way am I buying overpriced mixes that consist of 3 tablespoons of stuff.  Google to the rescue!  There are tons of sites with recipes and ideas.  

Our first attempt was a bit of a bust.  Undercooked. Those specks are sprinkles baked in.

The second attempt was better.  It was also chocolate.  Much better.  She picked pink vanilla icing.

I cannot ice a cake to save my life.  I am really bad at it!  Fortunately, sprinkles hide many imperfections.  Cut three ways, it was a yummy desert.
